I read a few threads about this that said the gf2mx just couldn't handle openGL mode due to bad drivers or whatnot.Long ago Blizzard's official stance on this was that the nVidia chipsets (the GeForce 2MX and GeForce 3, then the most current cards) were very slow on flushing the texture cache, such that for 3D games those cards worked fine, but for games with lots of 2D animation (i.e. I've got a 700mhz G4 imac with a crummy 32mb gf2mx. Software mode seems to run fine, but openGL mode is almost unplayable, and extremely choppy.
